Padauk (pronounced PA DOOK) is a beautiful hardwood from Africa.  It has a deep reddish brown color with hints of purple.  It is framed beautifully within the mahogany binding on these attractive ukes.  The sound jumps out at you with plenty of volume and striking, well balanced tone.
