Sitka Spruce grows in the most northwestern parts of North America in the coastal rainforests of Alaska and Canada. It is widely considered the staple of modern tonewood and has a tight, straight grain. The Spruce Top Myrtle Elite Tenor XL Ukulele is made from Solid Sitka Spruce and Solid Myrtle back and sides with a handsome satin finish. The Sitka Spruce provides the instrument with incredible clarity and improved dynamic response while the Myrtle adds sustain and additional warmth to the tone.
Our Tenor XL models come with a longer neck and have a longer body and a wider lower bout than our traditional Tenor ukulele. The longer neck has a 19” scale length and better fits the wider lower bout and longer body of the Tenor XL. The Tenor XL has a deeper and warmer sound and resonance due to its increased lower bout size.

To be fortunate enough to own a hand made Kala Elite is a real privilege. As a guitar player for nearly 50 years I have owned and played many fine instruments. As someone who is new to the ukulele it is a joy to play such a finely crafted piece. With red Aquila strings she plays like a dream.

One of the prettiest ukes I’ve seen. The cedar top is an elegant powerful sound board. The myrtle sides and back have striking compression grain. The Uke is a powerhouse of sound. A flat wound low G, such as Fremont produces, would be an improvement . A gloss finish would really be striking.

Had been very frustrated with ukulele's because I have big fingers...anyhow, just picked up this uke and not only does my hand fit but it sounds incredible. Been playing a lot of finger style Spanish music through this uke and it sounds perfect.

Beautiful appearances with great sound. The issue of off key of new uke has been improved after playing fortnight. There is a customized case for the uke and you don't have to trace for a large gig bag to store it. I also admire that a little compartment built inside the case. Thus, I can bring my strap as well.
